Jeff Haynie is a painter, writer and teacher in the Pacific Northwest. He calls his work "whimsical symbolism". His images of fanciful cats and decorative fish evolved from strong influences of Art Nouveau, Classical Realism, and a well developed sense of childlike Haynie wonder. As a classically trained painter, Jeff combines a nostalgic quality with fantastical symbolic elements to bring his feline creations to life. He is owned by 5 cats who guide all of his painting ideas.

Jeff's background is in illustration, entertainment design and interactive games. He has worked as senior art director for notable companies such as DreamWorks, Big Fish Games and EA Games. Jeff was responsible for art directing the highly success series of Mystery Case Files hidden object games for Big Fish Games. His work has been published by major corporations such as Disney, Pixar, Warner Brothers, DreamWorks, EA Games, Big Fish Games, American Airlines, Texas Instruments, Pepsi-cola, Frito-lay and Bic pens.

In Jeff's world, cats experience life the same way as we do, and the symbolic elements in each painting point to an inspiring message of faith, hope and love. Values that carry over into any species. He supports many local cat shelters and rescues in the Seattle area with a portion of his art sales.
