Mindy Howard brings more than 20 years of design experience to her pattern designs. As a founding member, former owner and principal of EHS Design/Nelson an interior design and architecture firm in Seattle, Mindy’s past clients include AT&T, Nintendo, Holland America Line, numerous additional corporations and financial institutions, and high-end residences. Her areas of expertise are concept design, color and material selection and specification, furnishings, and architectural detailing and documentation.

Her professional experience in architecture, interior design and business combined with her passion for quilt making, patterns, and surface design have evolved into PatternTalk. She creates her surface designs by observing, researching, developing, selecting, and executing unique shapes and patterns. “I see shapes and patterns everywhere. I see shapes within shapes and patterns within patterns – everywhere!” Her innate ability to recognize, re-form and re-imagine shapes and patterns makes her designs noticeably unique – and are clearly influenced by her professional background in interior design, textiles, furniture, and architectural details. “When I was in middle school my art teacher told me I should design patterns. From complex to simple, from bright to subtle, I love the entire process of creating shapes and developing them into innovative patterns that bring pleasure to the consumer.”
