Randy Waln was born and raised on a farm in northern Wyoming. He was drafted out of college into the Army in the last draft lottery. After serving in the military, he went back to college where he discovered his path as an artist. He received his BFA and MFA in Printmaking from the University of Wyoming, and taught college level art and design for thirty-two years. While schooled as a traditional printmaker, Waln transitioned to digital media in the ‘90s. Today he works primarily with digital media creating photographs and photography-based digital artworks
