Wanda Mumm expertly combines her innate abilities, art training and acute observations in the field to create works of art that appeal to the most discriminating of wildlife art enthusiasts. She spends as much time researching and composing each artwork as she does painting it, using many resources in her research including the thousands of slides she and her husband take each year during their travels.

Wanda has won many national awards for her extraordinary bird portraits including: Artist of the Year for the states of Illinois, Missouri, and Oklahoma; Featured Artist at the 20th Anniversary National Wildlife Art Show and at the Prairie Skies Show in 1995; Guest Artist at National Ducks Unlimited; National Turkey Federation Artist and the Minnesota Raptor Center Artist.

Wanda’s talent has also been recognized by many national manufacturers and she is often commissioned to do original artwork.

Wanda has worked with many illustrious wildlife artists such as Robert Bateman, Carl Brenders and John Seerey-Lester to continually hone her painting skills. In turn, Wanda volunteers her time to educate young, upcoming artists, working with school children, teaching them not only about art, but the natural world in which they live.
