Tina Nichols

Tina Nichols was born and raised in Germany and immigrated to the US in 1986. She lives with her husband Rick and her Black Labrador Mix Beau in Indiana and they have two grown children and one grandson. She is a self taught folk artist and designer and likes to work with natural materials and has enjoyed being creative ever since she can remember. At an early age her grandmother introduced her to various art forms and taught her how to knit, crochet and sew. While raising their two children Tina was a stay at home Mom and worked from home designing and creating a  variety of handmade country themed products which she sold to gift shops and folk art collectors all over the US.

It wasn’t until 2003 that she decided to quit her arts and craft business and she began a part time position as a kennel maintenance person at an animal hospital where she used to take their first dog Jake to get groomed. As an avid animal lover this was the perfect opportunity for her to be around all sorts of animals but it was the dogs that she liked the most. She started to groom dogs professionally and her daily work with these wonderful animals had become a great inspiration for her delightful dog art.
Her favorite mediums are acrylic paints and graphite pencils and her styles range from primitive folk art to abstract art and realism. Furthermore she likes to sculpt with clay and she also creates one of a kind needle felted sculptures made from wool.
