I think most artists are “what if” people. In our art and our lives we often think “what if.”

I believe that it is the foundation of creativity, the more “what ifs” the better.

In my collage years, I was an abstract geometric expressionist and then I started working in a realist style, often approaching photo-realism. A few years ago I began experimenting with an idea of breaking the composition down to basic elements that would still retain the overall essence of the image. The blocky hard edge shapes and saturated colors add a musical contemporary flare. These are the results so far of that new direction.

But I’m still putting my hand to my chin and saying “what if.”
