Through meditative repetition, rhythm, pattern and color, Laura creates awakening and aliveness in her art. As a child of the Missouri Midwest, the lush farmlands of the Mississippi River Bottoms, the rolling wildflower hills in the summer and the river bluffs speckled with Autumn color has created a magical place in her memories. These memories are what inspire her art.
Laura works mostly in acrylic paint. She uses a layering process through sweeping lines, mark making, loose brush strokes and color. She intuitively paints and does not plan her pieces of artwork but allows it to unravel and tell its own story.
Laura’s work brings a sense of joyfulness and happiness to her. This is what she hopes her art will bring to others. She resides in Phoenix, Arizona with her husband, son and two very spoiled dogs.
