Richard Burns

Richard Burns

Richard Burns was born in California, and began his painting career at a very young age. He won his first art competition at age eight, and the thrill of seeing his drawing, a tiger, featured in the local paper sealed his fate as an artist. Throughout his career, Richard has excelled at architectural drawing and sculpting, but his true passion is painting. Richard now focuses his energy in painting romantic cottages and wildlife art.

Besides his love of art, Richard is an avid runner and attended Northern University on a track scholarship with a major in art. After being there a short while, he found the 7000 feet altitude difficult for running and transferred to California State University Northridge. Following a long absence, Richard started training again for Master’s Track. In August 1996, he won the North American Track Championship’s 1500-meter race. He then went on to win a national 1500-meter title in August of 1997. Then In March 2000, Richard Burns set a New World record in Boston, Massachusetts in the 3000-meter race.

In his new cottage series, Richard Burns has created an inviting world in minute detail. He captures the imagination of the viewer with vivid colors, textures, and lighting. Richard is truly a master at creating a romantic setting.
