Born in Heilbronn,Germany on January 19,1958, Barbara Dannenhauer is not just an artist; she’s a pioneer whose creative spirit has transcended boundaries from the moment she embarked on her artistic journey. After making Pretoria her home in 1997, Barbara immersed herself in the vibrant arts scene, honing her skills under the tutelage of Salomi Prinsloo at a renowned private art school from 1999 to 2001.
Barbara’s early days as a hobby artist were merely the prelude to what would become a profound exploration into the realm of digital PhotoArt in 2014. It was then that she began transforming everyday photographs into breath-taking digital masterpieces. Barbara’s exceptional talents were spotlighted in 2019 when she ranked 5th out of 800 entrants in a prestigious competition by the South African Creative Camera Club, a testament to her artistry and innovative approach.
Her evolution continued as she embraced AI technology in 2021, pushing the envelope further and integrating complex AI-generated imagery into her work. This fusion of technology and creativity allows Barbara to craft unique visual narratives that captivate and engage, encouraging viewers to linger, reflect, and smile. Building on this success, Barbara’s creations were showcased at the Design Africa exhibition in Sandton Convention Center Johannesburg in August 2023, and later at the Hotel Riboville in the luxurious Waterfall Equestrian Estate.
