Paul was born and raised in Oregon in the beautiful Pacific Northwest . Always interested in art he had his first solo show at the age of nine. An art project in high school won a blue ribbon at the county fair. The fact that it was hung upside down provided a valuable lesson in art appreciation.

He has been a ballroom dance instructor, a bookstore owner, a braille transcriber and a self-taught digital artist.

His award-winning fractal-based art is a unique interpretation of the mathematical underpinnings of the natural world combined with an aesthetic which draws on modern masters such as Picasso, and Kandinsky, as well as the bold colors of German expressionism and the French Fauves. Recent observation of a mathematician: “You create art unlike any I’ve seen. You’ve reached a level I could only imagine when I first started exploring fractals and fractal art. You’ve set a high bar for this genre.”
