Justin R. Johnson is a contemporary painter who blends traditional acrylic brushwork with the seamless gradients of airbrush touch-ups. He studied at the Art Institute of Indianapolis, has won awards such as Best of Show through the Hoosier Salon in New Harmony Indiana, and has studied through workshops under local artist Chris Thomas. Justin’s artwork serves as a visual sanctuary, deeply rooted in the themes of faith, the warmth of home, and an enduring pursuit of inner peace.

Driven by a desire to bring comfort to a chaotic world, Justin uses his mastery of dual techniques to create light-filled, idyllic scenes. While his expressive brushwork captures the raw emotion and structure of his subjects, his meticulous airbrushing softens the edges, mirroring the gentle, comforting presence of the divine. My paintings celebrate the quiet beauty of home, the strength of faith, and the comforting promise of peace. In a fast-paced world, I paint to create visual sanctuaries and moments where warm light, colorful gardens, and inviting cottages remind us to slow down and give thanks.
Light plays a central role in my work, serving as a symbol of hope and divine grace. Through rich, luminous colors and welcoming scenes, my goal is to create a space of serenity where viewers can feel grounded, restored, and deeply at home.
