Longhorn Lauren

My name is Lauren Faske. I am an animal portrait artist in Brenham Texas and the resident artist at Lex Tex Rustics in Brenham. I received my B.F.A. from the University of Central Oklahoma with an emphasis on oil painting, and have been painting since 2016. My work was published in “The Book of Arts 2022: People” publication and “Best of Division” 2022 for Northern Lights Art Gallery “Artist Choice” competition. I focus on livestock and imagery from the American west. As a horsewoman and cattlewoman I have extensive hands-on experience with the deep connections between man and beast. My aim is to capture the dying lifestyle of the American cowboy. When not working cattle or horses, I create art on the road. Due to rheumatoid arthritis and lupus, I can no longer oil paint, but use digital media instead. This allows me the unique ability to paint while traveling or on remote ranches. My pieces add a flair of western charm to any home, office, or space and can be used in a variety of textiles and objects.
